A Field Guide to Hollywood Stereotypes critiques and identifies harmful tropes found across 6,000+ Oscar-eligible films since 1928.

 Driven by my own interest in cinema and pop culture, I curated this experimental project as an exploration of these patterns through an analogue format. By transforming research into a tangible publication, I aim to make these often overlooked stereotypes more visible and encourage deeper conversations around representation in film.

While many viewers may not consciously recognize the impact of these stereotypes, their influence continues to shape cultural attitudes and perceptions. A Field Guide to Hollywood Stereotypes traces the historical evolution of these harmful tropes from early cinema to today, identifying and critiquing their impact while encouraging dialogue around diversity, equity, and the future of storytelling in Hollywood.
