THE CHALLENGE

The idea of this brand came during the circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, cottage-core became very popular as it also inspired many to re-kindle with nature and humanity before industrialization and technology. The goal with this project was to create something tangible to encourage self sufficiency in an almost remedial way.




STORY & IDENTITY

Inspired by the “cottage-core” subculture that originated from rural English and European life, which was developed throughout the 2010s and first named cottage-core on Tumblr in 2018. Plants.pace took the motifs of healing and nature from this subculture, and furthered this idea of modern cottage-core into practice and beyond an “aesthetic.” 
Plants.pace’s identity started with a zine called “The Secret Garden” that explores this theme of the healing qualities of nature.
