WriteGirl is an LA nonprofit providing creative writing mentorship for teen girls and gender-expansive youth since 2001.

The task for this project lies heavily in effectively capturing the organization's essence while resonating with its diverse audience of young women, mentors, donors, and supporters. Balancing the empowerment and creativity central to WriteGirl's mission with a design that feels inclusive, professional, and appealing to prospective members and parents.
WriteGirl stands for empowerment, mentorship, and creativity. It provides a platform for young women to develop their writing skills, gain confidence, and express themselves creatively through mentorship programs and workshops. WriteGirl aims to inspire and support girls in pursuing their passions, fostering literacy, and building a community of writers who empower each other.

This identity system takes inspiration from the idea of “marks.” Such as literal marks that a mentor can leave on a mentee’s writing. Transformed into metaphorical marks that WriteGirls can make on their journey. This idea is extended metaphorically to represent the transformative impact that WriteGirls can make on their personal and creative journeys. Make your mark!
